Signs to Look For
Cockroaches
Signs: droppings that look like coffee grounds, a musty smell, roaches running when you turn on the light. They hide near food and water and multiply fast, so a few usually means many more out of sight.

Mice and Rats
Signs: droppings along walls and in cabinets, gnaw marks, scratching at night, nests of shredded paper. Mice and rats chew wiring and contaminate food, and they keep coming back until the entry points are found.

Ants
Signs: trails in the kitchen or bathroom, small piles of soil or wood shavings. Spraying the trail rarely reaches the colony. Treatment works when it targets the nest.

Spiders
Signs: webs in corners, basements and garages, egg sacs, more spiders in late summer and fall. A perimeter treatment and fewer hiding spots keep the numbers down.

Bed Bugs
Signs: bites in a line, small dark spots on sheets and mattress seams, live bugs near the bed. Bed bugs hide in cracks and furniture. Treating the whole room, with follow-up visits, is what stops them.
