Reviewing one particular employee as a performance review is highly needed. After first attempting to fill a prescription at the Orem location and a young woman who wanted to be done referred me to Provo location, I thought no problem. I’m grateful I can get my prescription filled. Being an out-of-stater, found the location, went in to discover a 40 minute line. No problem, grateful to get my prescription filled. Drop off my refill and the red haired young man with glasses behind the counter tells me it will be 35-40 minutes and I say “No problem, thank you for being here.” I check back 40 minutes later, next to my name it reads that my prescription is ready. I start looking for a pick up line, people are sitting and waiting, so I ask the red-haired young man at 10:07 if he will call my name and he mumbles something about “call you in a minute”. Nothing for 4 customers. So I get back in line. At 10:30, he walks out from behind the counter, right past me, looks me in the eyes and keeps going. At 10:58, I get back to the front of the line and I relay to the very tired clerk briefly what happened and perhaps he could give the people waiting in the chairs to invite them back in line or call their names, which he starts doing as soon as I pay. Walgreens in Provo…thank you for being open but Honey, ITS TIME FOR SOME PERFORMANCE REVIEWS…red-haired young man, glasses, clocked out at 10:30pm on Monday, March 21, 2022.
I asked an associate where I could find a syringe (not mentioned: for my cat who could very well be starving to death and needs help eating). The associate pointed me toward the pharmacy. There was a line, but I totally understand and I waited >15 minutes in like, no big deal. I got to the front of the line and the woman told me that they only sell syringes to people who get prescriptions at that location. Wow. I guess Walgreens only cares about your health if you’re already an approved, frequent customer. I will go out of my way to avoid this location in the future, despite living 1.5 blocks down the road.
I get it, pharmacies can feel like hoops to jump through. We had a complex battle on our hands but with Casey the pharmacist willing to think strategically we were able to get my sons medication filled and distributed In a time of need, despite him being out of town on a school field trip. Thank you Casey and pharmacy staff at Provo for your hard work helping us figure this out!
