I have been a customer of bay valley pest control for nine years. They were great to deal with.  About a year ago, they were acquired by Orkin.  Since then it has not been a great experience.  The days they were coming and the communication around that has been pretty flaky and their turnover on techs has been high.  Yesterday i got a bill with an 18% increase without any explanation. I called to see if they would address this.  Clearly they could care less and i cancelled my service after 9 years. I would not bother with these guys as their customer focus is is non-existent. Very disappointing.

They made two appointments and did not show up. After they finally showed up the third time, the agent placed the traps and mentioned inspector comes in to close the holes for the rats. The contract includes closing the gaps. After I signed the contract they placed the traps and checked them every week with no success after about two months.  I asked about the reason he mentioned the gaps were still open so I asked about closing the gaps and he answered it was 1 inch bigger than what they usually do so they charge me 600 privately if I wanted them closed. So I kept on following up with Orkin to complete the job with no success. I finally gave up and called to cancel the contract and it was supposed to be satisfaction money back guarantee. They canceled the contract but mentioned the manager will call for the return. Obviously three more calls and they never returned the money.

They came to get rid of the initial wave of ants and it was fine for about a month but they only come every 2 months. At around a month's time there were more ants and I called them to tell them that there were more in a different location in the house and to help deal with them. But they told me that they don't do that and that if I wanted them to deploy an exterminator that I had to pay an additional 109 dollars for a one time service. Implying that they would charge for every subsecuent call to complete the initial job.

Technicians don’t show and if they do, don’t expect them at the given time.

I scheduled for a service for them on I think a Thursday, they showed up the next day, and diagnosed the issue as oritental roaches, but couldn’t service that day, we need to empty the home for 4 hours. No issues, we rescheduled, the next technician came in, and sent us a list of to do things saying we need to empty all the cabinets around the infected area, again rescheduled for Tuesday, each technician came and said a different set of things. Both of technicians were late but I guess that’s okay.

Come Tuesday, we were scheduled from 2-4 PM, I call at 1:58 PM to ask, hey what would time would the technician arrive approximately. They said, the technician is not picking up the call, left a voice mail, 04:00 PM pass, and now I call Orkin again, and the rep said oh, the technician will not be able to come today, they called sick. We have to reschedule again, I’m not sure, how or why the service is so disorganised, but it seems like they don’t want my business. Can’t keep sitting at home guessing when they’ll arrive in a messy house. Trying another service, will not return here for service.

Most unprofessional firm. I waited for two hours and the technician Javier never showed. I called in to check and was told that the appointment was not set up correctly. I again waited for two hours during the next scheduled timeframe. Javier never showed up again. I called and was told that he would call me with an ETA. Waited for another hour, called again. He has not showed up and still no call. Overall I have wasted five hours of my time. The company has no respect for time, is thoroughly unprofessional.
