After about 9 months of experience with Orkin of Savannah, it is my displeasure to report none of the issues for which they were hired are completely resolved thousands of dollars later.

Exhibit A: Squirrels in the attic. Technicians amended the original "repairs" a total of 4 times, including a gaping space beneath our front porch that wasn't even discovered during the initial inspection. My partner discovered it months later when we continued having issues and insisted they fix it.

After canceling our service last week, the manager, Trey, called to ask about our experience. I let him know that we weren't happy with our pest control service, (more on that in a bit) but that after a long and frustrating road we could count on Orkin with the big stuff like getting rid of squirrels, especially since there is a lifetime warranty on the work. Boy, is the joke on me! Only a few days later, we had the HVAC serviced, and the technician took pictures of a brand new squirrel nest with fresh nuts that were still glossy and wet from outside. We found the work beneath the porch was poorly installed, and we won't even bother calling them to fix it because at this point there is no trust in the work they've provided.

Exhibit B: Cockroaches in the kitchen. I know roaches are a common problem in Savannah, but I'm originally from North Georgia where they aren't quite as bad. We have done absolutely everything on our end to keep them at bay! Sealing up every crack or potential entrance, vacuuming daily, never leaving dirty dishes in the sink, etc. Our regular service technician kept saying we had a 1 out of 100 infestation, but we kept having frequent issues even past the 6 month mark. A refrigerator was identified as the main culprit. We replaced it, but there were still bugs and no peace of mind. In January a different service technician provided our monthly services. We told him the bug problem had been much less but that we saw another German cockroach, which to be fair are notoriously hard to get rid of, and this technician went to town! He did far more than the other technician had done in all the months we'd been customers, and we realized at that moment we'd been ripped off. We live in a lower income neighborhood, and sadly, I think that is one reason for the poor service. Frankly, at that point we knew we had to cut ties due to the obvious bias.

This is a long, yet thorough, review for anyone who wants the real tea on what's up with Orkin's service in Savannah. After around 9 months, I think I've exercised an abundance of patience and haven't rushed into giving a poor review. The only reason I gave them a 2 star review instead 1 star is due to the technician who most recently treated our property. I also let Trey know this when we closed our account, and I believe if he'd been servicing our home from the jump our cockroach issue would have been eliminated months ago. Unfortunately, I don't have his name, but if you are lucky enough to live in his normal district I'd say absolutely go for it. Otherwise, be very careful about trusting this company with your peace of mind.

We have had two services completed and both times they have been great experiences. Very professional and friendly staff. They are able to complete my whole house in no time while still making it effective. They have competitive pricing and it’s super easy to schedule and reschedule on there website.
