We had a friendly cat move into our backyard, but it looked well cared for and had a nice collar on (no tags). So after a few days I called Harrison County Animal Control to come get the cat, in case someone was looking for it or in case it had a chip. The officer came very quickly and was able to secure the cat without much trouble at all. He said a lady had been looking for a cat that fit this description, so hopefully it has been reunited with its owner. Thank you very much to Harrison County Animal Control!

We had to report two lost Standard Poodles, with no collar, 3 Animal Control vehicles came out quickly and worked diligently with us to capture them.  They were not chipped so I hope they got back to their owners.  We fondly named them Sugar and  Cinnamon!

Found two dogs running on the beach with no collars. Called a couple times, and got directed to the police department who told us that an animal control officer was on the way. Waited over 3 hours with the dogs and they no showed us.

Several calls made to animal control by my neighbor and myself about a pair of german sheppards in our neighborhood, still no results in sight. I feel if they were bulldogs they would already been dealt with!  The owner told me to shoot them, not really comfortable with that situation. Wonder how long we will have to endure this? Till someone is mauled, I really hope it doesn't end that way.  What happened to protect and serve?  Thanks

If you want to remain anonymous don't call animal control for harrison. I called yesterday because a woman was hollering for help all day that a pig was dying and she needed a phone to call the owner because they wasnt home. She was runnkng door to door. So I let her call him and he was at Walmart. So I went to try and help but I have no experience with pigs so I didn't know what to do. The pig was breathing but was foaming out the mouth. So I was able to calm her a little by telling her that the pig was breathing and ok for now. I called the owner back and said I would come pick them up so they can come attend the pig and calm this lady down. I went and picked them up and had them home in 15 minutes.  They have no car or any form of transportation. So I dropped them off in front of the house and pulled back in my driveway. An hour or so went by and the owner had by then went next door and was hanging out with there neighbor outside chilling in the yard as if nothing was going on. This lady kept yelling at him out there door screaming his name saying you need to get in here, your pig is dying!!!! It bothered me tremendously so I decided to call animal control. I gave them a run down of what was going on and gave them there address not mine at all. So guess what they did. Came to my house after I told them the address they needed to go to and even explained my concerns. The animal control officer called my cell and said my name. I said yes this is her. I then already knew what they did. The correct message obviously wasn't passed and they pulled in front of my house. I told him I clearly told dispatch there address and then said so they know I called on them. He said yes they know. I usually wouldn't care but I don't know these people and me knowing how people can react and retaliate on people for calling on them I didn't want any problems at my home or with my family. Well anyway they told them I am the one who called and then took the word of the owner of the pig that they was waiting for a ride to the vet. They just got there dogs taken away a few weeks ago and the house as of yesterday had poop all over the floor and bugs flying everywhere. Not livable conditions for anyone in my eyes. I don't know if animal control even looked at the pig or not but something was wrong with it and the people screaming outside for everyone to hear. They also have not left that house which means the pig didn't go to no vet. Know I am left to look like the neighbor that just caused problems for them instead of helping. No wonder people just mind there own business and let things like that go. I'm not the one though, I'm an all animal lover. But I see they don't care so I won't call them no more since they don't care for any parties involved. It makes me give a star but I would do none if I could. Horrible communication and animal control officer.
